‘Shujaa’, the common nickname given to the Kenya sevens rugby team. A squad that is embraced by many citizens just like those in other sports mostly football, athletics and volleyball it is termed as the pride of Kenya.

The jersey rocks, with the t-shirt bearing my nation’s flag colors with the shields on its side, no wonder they lift our name high. Rugby itself as a sport moves you whenever yo watch it and these guys actually drag you along as they scram, protect and run with the ball and most of all as our superstars dive with it to make a try.

While football produces the likes of Victor Wanyama, Mc Donald Mariga, Dennis Oliech rugby boasts with the likes of Humphrey Kayange, Biko Adema and Collins Injera, with the latter named player of the final in the 2016 Singapore Sevens, after helping Kenya to win their first tournament in World Seven Series.

The team’s skipper, Andrew Amonde promises more each day for the team and our country’s success in the coming years, God willing.

Our Simbas!!!, you always make us proud.
